Description for Taco 0015-MSF2-IFC

Note: Full flange-to-flange three-year warranty on all 00 Series circulators.

The rugged 00R 3-Speed Radiant Pump now has a new and improved impeller design, reducing noise and improving power consumption.

Watts and amp ratings have been reduced by up to 10% and noise has been improved to 007 levels. This pump is specifically designed for the flow and head requirements of today's radiant heat systems. Its 3-Speed switching capability provides fine tuning control to match a wide combination of tube diameters and length of runs.

The 00R 3-Speed Radiant pump is a direct replacement for the Grundfos UPS 15-58 3-Speed. The 00R delivers the highest starting torque in its class and a removable, high-flow Integral Flow Check (IFC+) that prevents gravity flow, reduces installation costs and improves pump performance.

  • 3-Speed Switch
  • Fine tune to system requirements
  • Highest performance & starting torque in class
  • Heavy duty construction for longer life
  • 4-bolt universal flange (0010 only)
  • Removable high-flow Integral Flow Check (IFC)
  • Replaceable cartridge design
  • Quiet, efficient operation
  • Self lubricating, no mechanical seal
  • Wide range of applications
  • Cast Iron, flanged construction

I have had to replace two Taco 0015/00R pumps for electrical motor failure and pump seal leakage. Taco of old had a very high quality, now these new pumps less than 5 years old fail. Out sourcing? Not working well, next project I do will be with another brand of pumps.

              Not a replacemnt for B&G Lr20bf

              By Handy Alan

              from Ann Arbor, MI

Just replaced this after 1.5 seasons as it is noisy especially on high setting but on other settings as well. It does not repalce the Lr 20 bf that came with my WM Gv4 boiler. WM recommends Taco 007 which is different from 00R but is basically the same. Taco pump pulsed pressure gauge on return line much more than B&G. New pump is clearly moving more water and the boiler is working more effectively and quiet. Btw flow control was not installed on Taco and is not on Lr20. All of this in the opinion of a Handy Man...not a boiler expert, but I have been around the block.

I use these pumps with outdoor boilers that are 200 feet away with no problems, strong powerful design.

              • Q:

Can the Taco 00R pump be operated without the Removable high-flow Integral Flow Check (IFC) in place? In other words, I see that the IFC is removable but is running the pump without the IFC in place recommended by Taco?

There would be no problem with removing the flow check, as long as you do not need a flow check at this location. Flow checks are most commonly needed in circulators that are being used to control a particular zone. Without a flow check, nothing would be able to stop heat from slowly flowing through that zone when there is not a call for heat there.
