  • 1" Bronze 4900 Series Air Separator

    Q:

Does the air separator need to be located above the boiler when used with a wall mount condensing boiler with all the plumbing on the bottom?

      A:

Anywhere high up in your piping system that has central flow (before
manifolds). Try to picture where air bubbles might collect in the pipe if
they exist and place the device there.

      A:

Ken, I recommend placing the separator at the very highest point in the whole plumbing system. I've tried it above the pumps and above the boiler & have found that small amounts of air will still get to the highest point in the whole system, thereby causing bumping when they come through the pumps.

  • 1"" 4900 Series Air Separator (Sweat)

    Q:

Do you have to install a expansion tank below the air separator as I have a conventional type expansion tank in the system. And if so why>

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

The air eliminator does not have to go directly on top of the expansion tank, but it is usually a good idea to install them close together at the "point of no pressure change."

Your pictures looks to be orientated incorrectly if it's for horizontal only.

If you would like to tie it in, there is a 1/2" female thread port on the bottom of this unit for your expansion tank.
