Description for Taco V075T2G1ZA024Q4A1

The Taco Geo-Sentry Zone Valve enhances the overall performance of any geothermal system. The unique patented technology in the Geo-Sentry utilizes a microcircuit based logic to control a gear driven electronic actuator which drives a ball valve based body design. All this adds up to a geothermal zone valve that leads the industry in energy efficiency, flow capacity (Cv), shutoff pressure rating, ease of installation, diagnostic capability and the number of valves (12) that can be use on a standard 40VA transformer. The Taco Geo-Sentry zone valves are available in sweat, threaded and 3-way configurations.

Features

  • Up to 93% less energy usage
  • Universal Installation Orientation
  • Usable on Condensing Chilled Water Installations

Comments about 3/4" Geo-Sentry GeoThermal Zone Valve Normally Closed (Threaded):

This valve guarantees full 100% water shutoff with no water hammer whatsoever. End switch contacts control compressor start-up as well. If you are tired of playing with plastic sprinkler shut offs then step up to the best valve for open loop geothermal systems. Installed many of these and have had no issues with water flow, water hammer or compressor start up. If you like return service calls dont install this.

Slow open and close valve for Geothermal

Comments about Taco 3/4" Geo-Sentry GeoThermal Zone Valve Normally Closed (Threaded):

This valve helped quiet down a noisy geothermal system where the original installer used a pilot operated solenoid valve connected to undersized piping. The high water velocity in the 3/4 piping would cause a pronounced water hammer throughout the home whenever the old valve closed. This slow open and close TACO valve was the least cost option compared to replacement of the entire supply and discharge piping. No more water hammer and a now, a new a customer who can get a nights rest without a disturbing Ka-Thump every 15 or so minutes. From experience, if using any form of a motorized water valve it is best to keep a spare power head on your shelf as an emergency replacement. These motors get a great deal of cycling wear and eventually need to be replaced. With Geothermal systems if there is no water flow there is no heat or AC and you are left only with emergency heat or no AC. So; be certain to order a replacement power head for the same style valve and pay close attention to the designation for "normally open" and "normally closed" as this valve will use a "normally closed" power head.

I bought these as a 'next gen' valve to replace my older TACO series. I wanted a simpler valve that would hold up to my well water open system design. I was concerned about 'hamering' but the valve is very quiet and I really like the LED monitoring system and ability to manually close if needed.

TACO support was instrumental in my decision to buy! I would definitely talk with them regarding your application. I am a very satisfied customer!

I am replacing a Taco 5101-G2 which is installed vertically to avoid sediment blockage. Can the Geo-Sentry valve (V075T2G2ZA024Q4A1) be installed vertically?

Taco Geo-Sentry valves take five seconds to open or close. This would not normally be considered slow open/close.

                              A:

It is made from materials that can resist oxygen corrosion more effectively than those in a Zone Sentry valve. Zone Sentry valves are designed for use in closed-loop systems, but Geo-Sentry valves are designed for use in open-loop geothermal systems. Open-loop systems contain fresh oxygen.
