I used this air separator on a new install, I filled my boiler and started circulating water and I could hear it releasing a lot of air very quickly. Fells and looks like it is built very well.

I replaced my failed Bell $ Gossett air eliminator with this one and have been impressed with how well is functions. The B&G would leak water out of the vent and this one is dry as a bone. It quieted my hydronic heating system so much it is hard to tell it is working.

Great product!!! My boiler has been noisy for several years due to air in the system. The heating system was bled many times without success. I have even talked to plumbers who could not resolve this problem. After installing this product the sytem has been completely quiet. I highly recommend this product.

Love the fact that there is no issues with length of pipe needed in between unit and circulator, for those of us who have limited space issues. Love that they come with the hy-vent installed, it is a extremely effective in removing unwanted air.

After receiving this unit I realized that my heating system needed the 1.25" unit and not the .75". I have installed the larger unit and it works great. I would highly recommend this unit for anyone having air problems in their heating system.

The vortech air speparator effectively removes air from the hydronic system. The included taco hy-vent is made of heavy gauge brass, has a large valve, and can easily be disassembled for maintenance. When I first installed this unit and recharged the system, I could hear the valve hissing as it removed air. The spirotherm air eliminator may be a little better design, but this vortech unit does very well for the price, and it performs much better than a traditional air scoop.

This is my first ever boiler project and I was a little worried about getting the air out of the system, but with this device it was a piece of cake. Its not small by any means, but I have it attached to ridgid pipe, so I didnt need additional support. I could hear air coming out as soon as pressure built up. Great product.

My regulated feed line is also post-boiler, pre-separator. The system is a closed system--for the most part. Given all this, the source of air in my system was caused by two things: 1. The source/purge line and 2. A joint in one of zones started leaking and air got in the line. For the source/purge line, not a problem as the separator was right after the input line. For #2, the air had to be pulled to the pump, pushed through the boiler, past the source line (BTW--air would go up into the source/purge line then) to the separator. I had considered putting another separator in prior to the pump because hydro-pumps tend not to like air. Boilers don't care for air either. So, I think it would work fine. You may have issues with air from the source/purge line if it is post pump/boiler.
