Voltage, or volts, is a measurement of the difference between two electric fields (in heating terms, the difference between the Earth's electrical field and the electricity running through your wires).
Amperage, or amps, refers to the amount of electricity flowing through the wires.
Taco Zone Sentry Zone Valves provide on-off, normally
open or normally closed control in both open and closed hot or chilled water systems. The valves can be used in a wide variety of heating and cooling applications, primarily designed for use with fan coils, radiators, convectors, air handlers, heat pumps and radiant applications.
The Zone Sentry is the most technologically advanced
zone valve ever made. It's also simple to install and operate. The valve can be installed in any direction, in any orientation. Taco then went a step further, allowing the operator to be mounted to the valve body in either direction (see Figure A of the manual in the "Manuals" tab), great for those tight baseboard jobs.
Snap-in quick connects on the back of the valve make
for a simple, secure and fast wiring hook-up. A green
LED light shows full functionality of the valve's operation and thermostat status. Under a no power situation the manual override button located on the top of the valve allows the ball to be rotated up to 90° and is also marked with a slot to indicate the position of the valve.

I have an outdoor wood burner boiler system that heats the house. The system runs hot water through a large radiator in my furnace. I needed some extra heat in the basement. I ran some pex pipe, installed a baseboard heater, installed the Sentry valve, connected a transformer and thermostat and it works perfectly. Because the wood burner boiler has a circulating pump I did not have to install another pump. I used a door bell chime transformer to run the Sentry Valve. It all works great.

Deceptive marketing. The 1" version of this product does in fact allow 1" pipe connections, however, the valve port is the size of a non-full port ½" valve. I didn't expect a full-port valve but I did expect at least a typical 1" valve port size. It is really too bad because this is a good valve, easy to use and swap motors but not worth the high price just to reduce my 1" pipe-run down to less than 3/8" because they cheap'd out on a valve casting. I expected more from Taco… so sad. I will install these anyways and I will just have to eat the temperature drop the added restriction will incur but I will not be using these in my next house.

Nice Zone Valve
Comments about 1" Zone Sentry Valve (Sweat):
Valve worked without any issues. I like the ball valve design. I do wonder why the size of the ball isn't full port. Doesn't seem hard to do.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about 1" Zone Sentry Valve (Threaded):
Ordered four Zone Sentry valves and one arrived broken, valve stem was bent and the plastic that holds actuator to valve body was broken. Replaced quickly and easily by PexSupply. Installs quickly and the wiring is simple and easy to access, no problems during installation.
PEXSupply has it all

Needed this product fast and PexSupply had it and the price was better than I could find even at some supply houses locally. You can't ask for more. Fair prices, fast shipping, quality products.

This valve is great. However, I wish valves like this were full port.

We use this valve to control glycol on our fermentors in our brewery. They are driven by temperature controlers that montor the highs and lows of the beer we are ageing. The life span of these units are many years. I have tried other manufacters and these are the best.
"Great Zone Valve"

I bought (2) Taco 1" Zone sentry valve (threaded) to zone my hot water heating system. I went 1" because it was the size of my current pipes, I used threaded in case I want to relocate the valve or change out my boiler in the future. In addition I ordered a ZVC 403 controller and Honeywell Pro thermostat(s) TH411 to finish out the project. After all said and done I couldn't be more pleased with the product. The zone valve is ruggedly built and the detachable controller is very easy to remove and reinstall during installation. Wiring was a snap with the controller and everything work as it should when it was turned on.I looked at other zone valves but felt this was a really good product and it is.Thanks Brent.

Used recently on a boiler replacement project. I eliminated the old flo control valves with this. The overide on this ball valve assembly is way easier to move than the old valve
