Comments about Temperature Remote Controller (T-KJr2, T-K4):
Installation was a snap, though the directions are pretty minimalist.Operation is simple, too, though the instructions for that were even more minimal. I think there is more in the manual that came with the water heater than in the box with the remote controller.I bought this because my TK-4 provides domestic hot water and also heats my home through a radiant system with a Taco X-pump block heat exchanger. Most of the time, I have the Takagi set to 121F as this is all we need for domestic hot water and the Taco can get ~100+ F water in the radiant loops which is enough to keep the house warm in most weather. On the coldest days of the year (I like in the SF Bay Area, so days below freezing), 121F input water does not let the Taco get to the target temp for the radiant loop, so I up the Takagi to 131F.I used to do it by changing the DIP switches and now can much more conveniently do it by adjusting this under the sink -- much more convenient, especially since my TK-4 is mounted outdoors.Another nice thing is that this will tell you the actual input and output temperatures as well as flow rate. That latter is helpful in debugging why the unit turns off under certain loads -- like if you're showering with a 1.5GPM head and using 1/2 hot and 1/2 cold water, you are very close to the minimum turn-on flow for the TK-4Only gripe I have with this unit is that the display is always on and quite bright. It's a small waste of power an slightly annoying unles the unit is mounted out of sight in a closet or something.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Very easy to hook up and it works great. I needed the temperature to be a little hotter and this did it.
Good simple unit

I've used one of these for several years to control a Takagi tankless heater. It is very useful--provides basic information, displays it effectively, and works well. I just bought another Takagi tankless heaters (TK-4 OS) and got another remote controller for that one.
Fast Easy Install and Nice Readout

If you have a tankless water heater than you really do need a Remote Temperature Controller. This is something that should be part of the Flash Water Heater, or at least included with them. Until this happens - you should have the remote controller. Super fast installation on this unit and controlls the Takagi unit nicely.
