Comments about ViegaPEX Barrier Coil - 1" Coil (150 ft):

I use this product for radiant floor heating, home runs to boiler room from manifold locations. An excellent value but a little difficult to work with in cold weather.

  • ViegaPEX Barrier Coil - 3/4" Coil (300 ft)

    Q:

at what temperture will this piping freeze? I have to run the pex, strapped to the roof joice of an A frame house. I was going to insulate the tubing, using foam insulation. Will this be enough?
Asked on 11/23/2011 by Anonymous from Philadelphia,Pa

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

The tubing will freeze when the liquid inside it freezes. This would be 32 °F for a 100% water mixture. If you're worried about a freeze issue we would recommend using heat tape and insulation on the piping.

PEX tubing is not UV resistant; it may not even last a month in direct sunlight. We recommend that you sleeve the tubing in PVC. This will protect the PEX from UV rays.

  • ViegaPEX Barrier Coil - 3/4" Coil (150 ft)

    Q:

I'm re-running my hot water base board heating pipes in the basement in prep for finishing the basement. I have two questions:
    1) is the ViegaPEX Barrier Coil the type I need to replace the copper? If not, what should I be using
    2) I have the clamp tool (did my sinks, showers, toilet runs with it) will that tool work with this type of tubing
Asked on 10/19/2010 by daBulls from northern NJ

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Yes, the ViegaPEX Barrier Coil is the correct type of PEX to be using in this application. The clamp tool and rings will work fine with this tubing as well.
