Comments about 3/8", 6 Port Zero Lead Compression MINIBLOC:

I was replacing an old Vanguard 12 port unit. Viega does not offer a 12 so I purchased two 6 port units and mounted them back to back. Worked great.

Comments about 1/2", 4 Port Zero Lead Compression MINIBLOC:

This product seems well built and is just what I needed to route my water lines. I was really impressed by Supply House customer service. I made a mistake and ordered the wrong size unit and they took it back with no problems and didn't charge me a restocking fee. I'm sure I will be buying from Supply House in the future.

Comments about 1/2", 3 Port Zero Lead Compression MINIBLOC:

easy to install, good instructions for installation. Device is uaed at an off the grid cabin. After two years seals between valves leaked. Warranty was honored and a replacement was installed in 20 minutes. You need the specialized wrench to tighten the supply connections. Be sure to check what connections you want for the inlet and outlet ports.

Easy as pie

Comments about 1/2", 8 Port Zero Lead Compression MINIBLOC:

I built my house 8 years ago and the builder installed a manabloc /plumbing system with no unused ports for hot or cold water. I am now finishing my basement and adding a powder room and a bar sink. I needed to expand the ports on this unfamiliar system. After asking Supply House how to do it I found out that it is as easy pie if you plan it right and have all the right materials. It is almost as easy as connecting a garden hose. I am now ready to extend the new pex hot and cold lines to the new fixtures and that IS as easy as connecting a garden hose. I feel like a master plumber now. I can't think of anything negative about the experience.

easy to install

Comments about 1/2", 4 Port Zero Lead Compression MINIBLOC:

The product arrived promptly and in great shape. Instructions were pretty good except it didn't say the mounting tabs shouldn't be fastened to the wall too tightly or they won't flex enough to let the unit be mounted. A call to tech support at supply house got me Viega's #. They quickly resolved the issue and my bloc was easily mounted. Overall an A++ experience.

Comments about 1/2", 8 Port Zero Lead Compression MINIBLOC:

Once I downloaded the manual this manifold was quick and easy to install. My only recommendation is that they ship these with the manual. otherwise these are slick little manifolds! They come with extra compression hardware in case you make a mistake. But, I would still recommend ordering extra as the components are less than dollar each.

    Q:

Do all ports use standard MPT threads? I tried to fit a 1" copper female adapter on the input and it didn't want to thread on easily.
Asked on 3/17/2014 by Joe from Milwaukee

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

All of the ports use straight threads, you should stick with the viega supply and port adapters so you do not damage the threads.

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

You can use either 3/4" or 1" input lines. If you use 3/4" lines, you will probably want to use part 46646 unless you have a PEX crimp or PEX press tool.

    Q:

Does this minibloc have a primary input, primary output, and five either hot or cold distribution ports?
    Thanks!
Asked on 2/13/2012 by Anonymous from pierre,sd

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

This MINIBLOC (part 36033) only has three distribution ports. Viega does not make any 5-port MINIBLOCS. They likely use them as the stock photos to avoid confusion with actual items. Part 36043 is the 4-port 1/2" compression MINIBLOC and 36063 is the 6-port version. They each have an input and an output, and you are correct that they each individual unit must be used exclusively for either hot or cold.

  • 1/2", 3 Port Zero Lead Compression MINIBLOC

    Q:

I want to install an outdoor frost-free spigot through my basement wall. I am thinking of running one hot port and one cold port from my MANABLOC into each of the supply ends of a 3-port MINIBLOC. I want to cap off two of the MINIBLOC ports and run the third MINIBLOC port into my frost free spigot. This will theoretically give me the ability to 'set' the temperature of the water coming from the outdoor spigot and allow me to have cold, warm, or hot water at that spigot by adjusting the hot and cold MANABLOC valves. What do you think about the possibility of this working?
Asked on 10/15/2011 by NorthFace from Pittsburgh, PA

    • A:

Make sure you use one way check valves in line so the hot doesn't back feed into the cold.

Answered on 7/14/2012 by Doug Construction from Chesterland, Ohio
    • A:

I am also curious as to how well it worked out. If you haven't done it yet I would recommend a check valve in each line to ensure that you don't feed hot water into the cold side of your main manifold and vice-versa.

This does sound like it could work. We have never heard of anyone doing this, but we cannot think of any reason you would have a problem.

Answered on 10/18/2011 by PexSupply Staff from NY
    • A:

So you want to connect 1 cold supply pipe to the supply port and then connect 1 hot supply pipe to the opposite side's supply port, then cap all other ports other than the 1 connected to your exterior spickot. I am curious if you actually followed through on your experiment. Because it seems that it would be a real pain in the you know what if you had to visit your "manabloc" manifold every single time you wanted to switch the water temperature from hot to cold or warm since that would be the only way to control the amount of hot and cold water that is flowing into the "minibloc" manifold. My suggestion would be to install a faucet (perhaps an "old style" laundry faucet or other) instead of a spickot that is connected to your main "manabloc" or just install 2 spickots right next to each other. That way you could control the water temperature very conveniently at the location you are using it.

Can I use this compression type system with ProPex tubbing that requires an expander tool?
Asked on 4/5/2011 by Dan from Raymond WA.

      A:

ProPEX is a fitting system, not a style of PEX tubing. That said, compression-type systems work with any kind of standard PEX.
