Comments about 1/2" PEX Single Snap Clips (Package of 100):

This is a great little clip that holds standard drip tube firmly in it's place. We created a green wall with Netafim and this worked perfectly for the application.

Comments about 3/4" PEX Single Snap Clips (Package of 100):

I bought a box of these 3/4" PEX single snap clips for some home plumbing. My observations:

              - They're a good price
              - 1 1/2" wood screws work fine for holding the clips to studs
              - It was hard to find screws with heads small enough to fit in the hole in the clips, so I forced one of the screws in and it worked fine. The plastic is malleable enough to allow the screw head in.
              - The clips tend to spin out of position during the final tighten. I used a battery charged drill to get the screws in most of the way, then finished off the tightening with a hand screw driver. I then used the screw driver as a lever to straighten the clips. Try to get them as straight as you can. This helps the clips hold the PEX better.
              - I screwed a row of clips in place first in the desired path that I wanted my PEX to run.
              - The PEX snaps into the clips with a satisfying click. As I uncoiled the PEX I snapped it into place.
              - The initial clips don't hold the PEX that firmly. The bends in the PEX caused the pipe to pop out of the clips. I found that you can bend the pipe straighter and that helped. Still the PEX popped out of some of the clips, so I wrapped some light gauge wire around the neck of some clips and around the PEX to hold the pipe in place. I only had to do this for a few key clip locations.
              - The PEX spins and slides nicely in the clips. This helps when positioning the joints.
              - Most important point... If you're using these clips with Shark Bite connectors, don't position the clips too close to these connectors. The clips act just like the Shark Bite disconnect tool. I had some of my Shark Bite connectors come loose when I was sliding the PEX into better position in the clips.
              - I recommend snapping a chalk line to get the clips lined up perfectly straight. I think that will help them hold the PEX better. The clips I installed were spaced 16" apart. That's not a lot of space for the PEX to bend and accommodate misaligned clips. I'll know to use the chalk line next time.

My two cents. Hope that's helpful.

                        A:

I do not believe the 1/2" snap clip will work well for 5/8" PEX. The 1/2" and 3/4" snap clips are very tight on the tubing, meaning there is no wiggle room, and they are designed specifically for that size indicated. If you would like a quote for the snap clips you need, email us and we can do that for you.
