Easy Installation and Usage

Comments about 24 Port Brass PEX Crimp MANABLOC Package (Crimp Supply):

This product was used to replumb our raised bungalow using 8 hot and 12 cold lines - still room for expansion with the 24 port. The kit had everything required to get it done.

Instructions were fine for getting it mounted -- went with a surface mounting for it on 3/4 board. Make sure you have enough room around the Manabloc to permit your output lines to bend straight into the Manabloc. I could see how lines that are not straight may put a strain on the fittings. Hand tightened fittings, and not a leak to be seen.

Make sure you spend some time planning out the input lines to the Manabloc as well --- if you have a cramped area like mine, you'll need to plan as supply lines only bend so much (and since it is PEX we want to use as few fittings as possible right? :-) )

Even pressure, and in fact we believe we see more pressure on some lines. Nice to have shutoffs for individual lines now as before had only the main water line shutoff for everything if work needed to be done. Excellent product.

Manabloc is good

Comments about 30 Port Brass PEX Crimp MANABLOC Package (Crimp Supply):

Pretty easy to install for a home owner first-timer. My application is for all new plumbing in old house. Unless you have access to a stud bay, you will have to construct a support structure out of plywood and 2x4s, drilling out support holes at each port fitting and at the manifold inlet/outlet in order to protect the somewhat fragile ports from any bending stress . Not hard to do, but plan accordingly! I mounted the 'unit' on bottom of joists on the basement ceiling. Also, order your caps for unused ports ahead of time. I was shorted one port fitting and it took a couple tries to fix - these are specific to this product and can't be purchase locally.

Yep, it worked as planned. Very flexible compared to stuff purchased at home centers, worked well. Re-ran entire house from manifold with PEX. Used regular brass fittings, and crimp rings/tool.

just about perfect

Comments about 24 Port Brass PEX Crimp MANABLOC Package (Crimp Supply):

I just got done installing this in my house as we get ready for some major renovations. It works wonderfully, and the install was a SUPER easy.

The valves in the manifold work smoothly, though they do not have positive stops. This took me all of ten seconds to train myself to get used to. If the key is horizontal, or close to it, it is on. If the key is vertical, or close to it, it is off.

The connections for each line connect to the main body with a slide-in coupler with an O ring. This allows you to attach the coupler when the line is not connected to the manifold, so it is easy to connect and get in place. This is a good thing because the connectors end up VERY close.

The mounting system for the manifold seemed very flimsy. It mounts on four small plastic feet. I choose to anchor every tube a few inches from the manifold. Using 1/2" PEX and snap in connnectors I ripped a two 2x boards to 15/16" and mounted them down each side of the manifold to hold my anchors. It worked perfectly.

I would buy this unit again, and I would reccomend it to anyone looking to add control and pressure balancing to their house.

Comments about 14 Port Brass PEX Crimp MANABLOC Package (Crimp Supply):

Purchased the 14 port crimp manifold when I re-plumbed our lake cabin. Comes with an excellent set of instructions for mounting and showing how to run the lines. This was the first time I have ever used PEX plumbing and was amazed at how easy it is to do! The MANABLOC manifold is well made and had all the parts needed to connect the PEX lines to the manifold.

We replaced our old copper with this and it is working fantastic. We can run a dish washer, washing machine, flush a toilet and wash out hands while having and shower with almost no change in pressure or temp change.

Converting to Pex

By Fuggy

Comments about 14 Port Brass PEX Crimp MANABLOC Package (Crimp Supply):

I have been having problems with the coppper pipes in my house (only 18 years old) beginning to get pin hole leaks so I began looking into other systems. I have recently purchased the PEX 14 port Manabloc package. It was very easy to install and because of the flexible pipe I was able to run a new line (like runnning wire) to each fixture in my downstairs bathtroom. Now I am ready to fully convert my house over as I have time and/or problems arise with the original plumbing.

Technical support was very helpful with my questions and made solid recommendations for my order.

Can this item be used as a manifold for a radiant floor with 6 loops -feeding the warm water to the hot side and recovering the cooler water to the cold side? Water temp is approx. 100F.

I don't see any reason why it would. Most of the labels are attached after
and the water should work fine in either direction.

      A:

You can't really tell from the picture, but one end has two openings (one
for the hot water inlet and one for the cold water inlet) and the other end
only has a single opening. That end is typically capped, but it can be
uncapped if you desire to drain the entire system. But as for your
question, it doesn't matter what the orientation is of the manifold. You
can even install it sideways or at an angle if you so desire.

I'm certain you could mount this either way,
The only thing would be feeding it out of the
bottom... Wouldn't look "right", but I would think
It'd function the same. ...Stickers would be upside
      down as well...

Using compressed air is the most common method. There are not any major differences that apply to winterizing Manabloc systems as opposed to any other type of plumbing distribution system.

Putting In summer home in Ozark, Mo.
    Asked on 8/2/2013 by Peach

      A:

This is the one I used, and I love it. Especially for a seasonal home, it has two neat benefits you might not have considered: 1) it's incredibly easy to drain the system for winter-just unscrew the bottom cold water inlet, open your faucets, and out it comes; 2) it might make your home less vulnerable to attack by copper scavengers. Other than that, everything is hand-tight only, so very easy to service. Ports have good design with O-rings, so nothing leaks. The only challenge I had was figuring out how to mount it to a flat basement wall, then run lines to it without putting strain on the ports. I ended up building a flat panel with a 2x4 frame on the back, and hung from the joists with 2x4's and lag bolts. To relieve stress on the ports, I screwed 2x4's parallel down both sides of the Manabloc, standing on the 2" edge. I bore holes through the wide side of the boards, lined up with each port, using the template provided. This arrangement simulates mounting the Manabloc between studs, and controls the routing and stress of the lines connecting to the ports. Once I got it mounted, running the lines was super fast and easy. Good luck!

An RV antifreeze (propylene glycol) solution can be used when winterizing the unit. Make sure you properly flush out the system after the winter.

You would not be able to do this. Manablocs require proprietary fittings and there are no options for ProPEX outlet fittings.

They are probably equally common. Crimp adapters make more sense if if you are using PEX supply lines and have a crimping tool. Threaded adapters make more sense if you're using copper supply lines or you do not have a crimping tool or PEX press tool.

I just bought some of the clinch clamp rings at the hardware store and I
found them to be much easier to use. Just make sure you have the screw cap
(for connecting to the manifold) on the correct side of the clamp before
you secure it or you might not be able to get it back over the ring.

This kit is just about as all-in-one as it gets. You just need the pex pipe and the copper crimp rings (3/4 and 1/2). One major note, there is more cold then hot outlets.
