It consists of a brass body with stainless steel internal parts, integral strainer, and two durable, tight-sealing, rubber check valves. Designed for continuous pressure, non-health hazard applications in smaller supply lines, such as laboratory equipment, processing tanks, sterilizers, dairy equipment, and specifically for boiler feed lines.

Easy to install. Does the job. Better price than my local home improvement and heating supply stores. Be sure to remove the plastic seals before soldering or applying heat to the fittings.

This model is the same as the Watts 9D Model. The expansion tank i son the return line, assuming it is a hydronic application.

                        A:

                        Hi,
If you're putting this device in a line which has an expansion tank you may
be using it for the wrong purpose. Here's a link to the installation
literature for the product: http://media2.wattswater.com/1910237.pdf. Note
that there's no expansion tank shown in the diagram.
The only thing I can add is that the backflow preventer should be the first
device in the supply line, after the shutoff valve. So, if you do have an
expansion tank, for some reason, it most likely would be on the outlet side
                        of the backflow preventer.
                        Hope this helps.
                        Mark S.
