Description for Watts 0206001

The MMV-M1series can be set to any temperature between 80°F and 120°F with flow rates as low as 0.5 gpm and as high as 12 gpm. This mixing valve series is listed under ASSE Standard 1016 for single fixture applications, ASSE 1017 for hot water source applications and ASSE 1070 for single or multiple fixture applications.
The MMV-M1 series uses a double throttling design to control both the hot and cold water supply to the mixed outlet. The superior flow characteristics of this valve provide accurate temperature control (3°F) with low pressure drop across the rated flow range.
As an added feature the MMV-M1 series incorporates integral inlet filter washers and check valves in both the hot and cold water inlets to protect against cross flow.
The MMV-M1 is available with either union thread (-UT), union solder (-US) connections. Adapters can be used to connect to CPVC or PEX end connections.

Gives rock solid safe 120 degree hot water. I installed it in the "upside down T" position with the control knob on the bottom. Though the spec sheet said the max output temp should be 120 degrees, I found it to be well over 130 (with knob at limit) so I had to turn it back to get desired water temp of 120. Not a problem. Highly recommend.

I added this mixing valve to my potable water supply to cut down on the variations in hot water temperature. The maximum rated temperature of 120 F for the mixing valve was not achievable-it will yield no more than 105 F in spite of 140 to 180 F hot water inlet temperature. I used two different thermometers and an IR thermometer to test the water. I adjusted and readjusted the unit several times with no difference in the maximum temperature. Needless to say that 105 F at the mixing valve yields an unacceptably low temperature for the shower (and a very unhappy wife!)

You have to loosten, the small screw on the handle and pull it out. Then turne it left or right depending on the temperature u want. Tge know has a lock to it and the only way it will turne is if the screw is loose and pulled out. After that just follow the instructions on the tag. Hope this helps.

                                                Hi
To adjust the temp of the water:
Take the hex wrench that is supplied (or one from your toolbox) and loosen the screw on the top of the plastic knob.
Once loosened, lift the plastic knob about 1/8 inch and it will unlock from the valve body. The direction of turning is indicated on the valve (or instructions) - one way will add more from the hot side, and the opposite turn will add more from the cold side.
The valve will operate with the screw loose, so you may want to test the output temp before retightening the screw.
Once the temp is OK, reset the knob down on the valve and lightly retighten the screw so it will not move.
                                                Hope that helps.
