I use this for an on site water heater that does not have a thermostat in it, so no one gets burned from the hot water.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do. At first I was having trouble with hot water backing up into the cold water line but I added a check valve (like it said to do in the instructions!) and it has been smooth sailing.

It only lacks a calibrated reference point for the adjustment dial. Adjustment are "relative", not "absolute". You need to add a thermometer, down-stream from it to adjust the temperature to what you want it to be. If you add a thermometer, be sure to allow adequate water exposure, but keep the probe out of an area of turbulent flow (or probe will be quickly eroded).

We were having a problem getting the hot water temp low enough to use without burning ourselves. This valve allows lower temps in the hot water to the faucets but also keeps the hotter temps for the clothes washer with the recommended install.

I purchased 1 of these valves to test out on my on demand HW heater and it works so well I ordered another for my other on demand unit. It was an easy install and adjustment. It regulates the temperature enough to prevent scalding, but allows for a nice flow.

One line to a ball valve at the shower. Easy to drain in the fall. No expensive exterior grade shower valves.
