Comments about 1" Sweat PRO-PAL Ball Valve w/ Drain:

It is a great idea, saves space, fewer leak points. I bought a few of these but somehow the piping worked out better without some of them. Where I used them, they work/fit well. Quality seems good.

Comments about 3/4" Sweat PRO-PAL Ball Valve w/ Drain (Lead Free):

I am using these valves along with a standard ball valve outdoor spigot to replace frostproof valves which fail regularly. This valve allows me to drain the line in winter.

Flush and Drain for my air handler

By Jeff in NoVa

from Merrifield VA

Verified Buyer

Comments about 3/4" Sweat PRO-PAL Ball Valve w/ Drain (Lead Free):

Lost a star because the first valve leaked. I ended up getting another locally. My pro exchanged the one from Supply House with another from that local vendor. And the second replacement valve also leaked. Not a bad joint but bad brass.

Other than that star, the valves installed easily, no issues with the "lead-free" being harder to solder up. These make filling and purging my air handler a snap. Simply add a water supply hose, and another for a drain and let nature do its thing. I'm happy. Recommend this product. But I think Webstone has some Qa issues to work out.

Wanted to put in plumbing to easily drain water system and winterize between visits to a winter cabin. This one part saved me from purchasing many seperate parts to do the same job. works well and simple. I turn off water to the house and drain into the sump pump well when I leave the cabin.

  • 3/4" Sweat PRO-PAL Ball Valve w/ Drain (Lead Free)

    Q:

Can you use this valve on a hot water line and for potable water? Under instructions - Pressure/Temperature limits - it says 100 degrees Fahrenheit max? I am a beginner at plumbing but I'm sure my hot water is hotter than 100F. Thanks
Asked on 2/28/2015 by Ivan from Hellertown PA

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Yes, this ball valve can be used in potable water systems. The temperature limit depends on the pressure being applied to the system. For example at 100 degrees F the maximum pressure rating is 600 PSI.

  • 1" Sweat PRO-PAL Ball Valve w/ Drain

    Q:

Is this vavle bi-directional or must it be installed with flow in a specified direction?
Asked on 2/16/2015 by Anonymous from 123 Main street

    3 answers

    • A:

The Ball Valve should be mounted so the handle is convenient for your customer. The handle on the ball valve can be removed and then, using a crescent wrench the ball can be turned so that the drain works in your specific application. Webstone supplies a little replacement sticker with the ball valve to let you show just how this particular ball valve / drain is set up.

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

It's a ball valve so direction does not matter, however the drain may end up on the wrong side if your trying to drain with the valve closed.

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

The Ball Valve is bi-directional, as all Ball Valves are, but the drain
port is only on one side of the valve, which usually determines the valve
      installation.
