Lots of Hot Water

By John

from Storrs, CT

Verified Buyer

Comments about Ultra Plus 40 Indirect Water Heater:

I have only had this water heater for about two weeks, but so far it is working very well. It installed easily and gives us plenty of hot water. Seems to be well made. The only minor con was the default temperature setting was very hot and we had to turn it down a lot to get water that you could leave your hand under.

Awesome heater!

By Norm

from Lanse,MI

Comments about Ultra Plus 40 Indirect Water Heater:

We are using the Ultra Plus for domestic hot water
powered by a natural gas boiler. The water heating cost is 1/3 compared to conventional electric, and we have an endless supply. Very efficient.

      Hi,
I have the Ultra Plus 40 and am very happy with it. Sorry but I am not

      A:

Aqua Plus models are newer and have more features than Ultra Plus models. The colors don't change anything on the unit, but are designed to match various boilers.

Can this be connected to an oil fired tankless hot water boiler?

      A:

As long as the boiler has a zone 'A' dedicated to water heater priority, it
should not matter if it is an oil or gas boiler.

Yes, this tank can be connected to gas, oil, or electric-fired boilers.

  • Ultra Plus 40 Indirect Water Heater

    Q:

I have to relocate the water heater, how do you drain the tank? There is no drain valve like I am use to seeing on a water heater.
Also, this is the second Gold Plus 40 that I am installing, the first one was installed September of 2004, and it started leaking and is the replacement covered under the warrenty?

Asked on 3/15/2012 by Flip from Pottstown, PA

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

The drain valve is mounted in the AUX tapping on top of the water heater. For directions on how to drain the tank, refer to page 21 of the manual for the unit, which can be seen here: http://s3.pexsupply.com/manuals/1283434775392/38633_PROD_FILE.pdf

The Ultra Indirect Water Heaters have a Limited Lifetime warranty, which is specified in detail on page 68 of the manual as well. To replace the unit under warranty, please refer to the installer or company that the unit was originally purchased from to start any warranty procedures.

Does your "Limited Lifetime Warrenty" actually cover anything, or did you just put it together so the customer feels safer hearing the words.

  • Ultra Plus 40 Indirect Water Heater

    Q:

If a 100,900 BTUH natural gas boiler has been adequate to heat my house, and now I wish to add a gold/ultra plus 40 indirect water heater, would the CGA-6 boiler fit the bill?
    Asked on 8/8/2011 by Stan

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

You would not need to add any BTUs to the boiler. The indirect water heater would have priority, so the boiler and the indirect water heater would never operate at the same time.
