I use this for heat only system, with a remote sensor that is in babie's bedroom. This way I know don't have to guess what to set the thermostat at night every night, I know how his room will be.
On the plus, it works very nicely and holds the temperature where it needs to be. It is very configurable, has lots of setup options. It is very easy to override the programmed value, and you can do this temporary override, or permanent override which stays until you go back to program mode, which is also very easy with one button click. I like that once it is in permanent override mode, it behaves like a non-programmable thermostat. It can be configured to be used as completely as non-programmable, but with this configuration it doesn't display the clock.
The touchscreen works very well, it never missed my touchs.

On the con side, the display could have more contrast to make it more readiable from distance and especially from angle. We have it wired such that it gets power from system transformer. This way it is configured to always show high intensity backlight, which makes it more readible. But not everyone might be connecting this way. For us it is in a place where you naturally are close to it to be able to see it, so readibility is not an issue, especially with the continous high backlight.

The relay switches are on the loud side when they turn on and off. In a bedroom this could be an issue if you are bothered with such noises.

Overall I really like it for our use.

Not As Advertised - Be Careful

Comments about 90 Series Programmable, 1H/1C, Blue Digital Touchscreen Thermostat:

Purchased this control to replace an obsolete 2 wire 1F90-371 "power stealing" thermostat. It is listed by Supply House and White Rodgers as the replacement. It WILL NOT replace the 1F90-371. First of all it wouldn't work with the existing indoor remote sensor so I next purchased the new sensor which is smaller and doesn't cover the old foot print. I dissassembled it and put the circuit board inside the old case. The stat still wouldn't work because we found deep within the instructions that it requires 24 volts to utilize the remote sensor. Running an additional conductor was not an option. Ended up swaping it with a 1F90-371 from another location where I could install the additional conductor. Had it not been touted as the replacement, I would have installed a different thermostat. A simple 30 minute thermostat changeout turned into a big multi-day project. My customer isn't happy nor am I.

Comments about 90 Series Programmable, 1H/1C, Blue Digital Touchscreen Thermostat:

I have 4 zones in my house and have one of these on each zone. It is easy to program and has great programming flexibility, from just manually setting a temperature to 7 completely different days, each with up to 4 settings.
The touch screen is big and easy to read (and set programs on), and the ability to override the programming for special occasions is easy.
A great functioning, and good looking, product.

Comments about 90 Series Programmable, 1H/1C, Blue Digital Touchscreen Thermostat:

This White Rodgers thermostat has a large touch screen that when you touch it it turns blue. If you are able to install additional wire onto the C terminal of the thermostat it stays blue 24/7. Besides its cool blue touch feature, the thermostat performs very well, w/ 7 day features, hold feature, on & off button which most thermostats do not have. I wired mine w/ there optional outdoor senser so my thermostats not only displays the time of day but also displays the outside temperature. Priced right & performs very well!

Comments about 90 Series Programmable, 1H/1C, Blue Digital Touchscreen Thermostat:

I live in a two story colonial that stays cool enough during the day but at night when there is not extra heat downstairs to turn on the a/c, the upstairs gets hot. This thermostat turns on just the blower fan for ten minutes every hour to balance out the temp in the house and then if needed will turn on the a/c. It keeps the house's temperature better balanced. I liked it so much that I bought one for my mom. now my brother wants one!

How do you get back to the manual operation of the thermostat with no schedule
Asked on 12/14/2013 by Scooby from Ogden, ut

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

On page 8 of the 1F97-1277 model it states for OPERATING YOUR THERMOSTAT:
Manual Operation (Bypassing the Program) Programmable Thermostats
Press up ("+" ) or down ("-" triangle [points down]) and the HOLD button and adjust the temperature wherever you like . This will override the program . The HOLD feature bypasses the program and allows you to adjust the temperature manually, as needed . Whatever temperature you set in HOLD will be maintained 24 hours a day, until you manually change the temperature or press Run Schedule to cancel HOLD and resume the programmed schedule.
Program Override (Temporary Override) Press up ("+" ) or down ("-" triangle [points down]) buttons to adjust the temperature. This will override the temperature setting for a (default) four hour over- ride period. The override period can be shortened by pressing left "-" pointing triangle, or lengthened by pressing right "+" pointing triangle. Program Override period can range from 15 minutes to 7 days.
Example: If you turn up the heat during the morning program, it will be automatically lowered later, when the temporary hold period ends. To cancel the temporary setting at any time and return to the program, press Run Schedule.

      Bertha,
The Blue light is just temporary, it does not stay on all the time.
Just press the display, away from control keys and it will come on.

It is ok if it stays on all the time. If you don't like that you can easily have it automatically turn off after so many seconds after you last touched the screen. It is an easy change in the set up menu. I leave mine on all the time. It is a nice night light in my hallway at night.

The blue backlight stays on all the time only if powered from the transformer on the furnace or air conditioner. If you are using batteries, the light is only on when you touch the screen.
