The Engineered Plastic (EP) Heating Manifold Assemblies feature isolation valves and balancing valves with flow meters, and come fully assembled, ready for installation. The manifolds are available in 2- through 8-loop configurations. The body ends feature R32 unions and the loop outlets have R20 male threads. The manifold mounts on a bracket (A2670006) that comes with the assembly.
For cost-effective, durable, hydronic radiant systems, Uponor now offers the Engineered Plastic (EP) Heating Manifold. This new manifold is comprised of thermoplastic, high-performance, advanced materials suitable for use under conditions of high impact, heat and moisture. Successfully installed throughout Europe for the past five years, Uponor now offers this innovative new product in the United States and Canada.
This strong, durable manifold is made of an advanced engineered plastic, which withstands corrosive environments and is unaffected by the rising cost of metal, making it an economical solution for all radiant projects.

More sturdy than it looks

In my system, I use a three loop manifold to heat a large kitchen/dining room area, which is tiled. I had a layout diagram drawn by Pexsupply, which was very helpful. Unfortunately, when installed, the whole system didn't work. I read about such systems and their issues and found that many people are not very satisfied with theirs. I think the reason is that they don't understand how to install it.[...] I finally got hold of a flow diagram upstream of the manifold. I realized that I had omitted an important pump downstream of the mixing valve. Once I installed the pump, the system worked like a charm.

I had three of these - two with no actuators and controlled by zone valves and one with actuators. Product is good and easy to mount and to connect loop piping (I used all 1/2"). Suggestions: My manifolds were in a basement and most loops came from above so in order to allow the flow meters to work I had to pipe each loop down alongside the manifold, do a "U Turn" and enter the manifold from below. This takes up a huge amount of wall space (3 - 4 loop manifolds ate up 6' of wall! I've seen quite a few of these mounted upside down for this reason. The thermometers seem kinda cheesy and they simply snap into a recess in the manifold. Looking at the picture I assumed they were "real" thermometers with a probe in a well.

      The EP manifolds cannot be tied together in series. You could tee both of them off of your main line separately, however.

      They can be, as long as the system will operate within the manifold's specified temperature and pressure range and the manifold will be able to provide sufficient flow to the radiators.

      Unfortunately, SKU# A3020522 is not compatible with EP Radiant Heat Manifolds. You can use the following actuators with EP Radiant Heat Manifolds:

      Two-Wire Thermal Actuator For EP Heating Manifold (SKU# A3030522)
      OR
      You can use the EP Heating Manifold Actuator Adapter (SKU# A2671300) with a Two-Wire Thermal Actuator (SKU#A3020416 ) or a Four-Wire Thermal Actuator (SKU# A3010522)
