Work for a chemical plant and have been using these and other similar fittings to replace waterlines for our old, far-corroded, iron-piped, safety showers and eyewash stations.

I love the ability to mate two different types in a simple fashion--always a refreshing procedure.

Too, these a benefit of these brass fittings over plastic fittings is that they're more impervious to scoring and subsequent leakage if you have to cut pex at/on the joint. While it's certainly not ideal to ever score any fittings, sometimes one needs to cut pex at a joint, and I've done so at a plastic joint before and had it leak afterwards.

Comments about ProPEX LF Brass Male Threaded Adapter, 3/4" PEX x 1" NPT:

Good product, works good, and have had no problem with Wirsbo products. Quick to install. Cons is still the cost at 20-30% more than compression fittings.

Comments about ProPEX LF Brass Male Threaded Adapter, 1" PEX x 1" NPT:

So far it is working great. Used it to transition from PVC to PEX. This is underground and I am hoping I have no problem with freezing from the cold. I'm not sure if the metal will be a weak spot in the line, but will find out this winter.

ProPEX Fitting Line

Comments about ProPEX LF Brass Male Threaded Adapter, 1" PEX x 3/4" NPT:

Don't be fooled by brand-X fittings. Although spendy, these ProPEX fitting are designed to give the proper spec'ed flow rates I.E., "Full Port" through Uponor's PEX-a tubing products. They also work very well with Uponor's expansion rings. Where long runs are involved full port spec is important.

  • ProPEX LF Brass Male Threaded Adapter, 1/2" PEX x 1/2" NPT

    Q:

will this fitting work with CTS PEX?
    Asked on 5/9/2014 by steve

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

ProPEX fittings can only be used with type A PEX Worsbo For example. This
type of connection can only be made within expansion tool which is
expensive. If you're only going to make a few connections it doesn't pay.
Shark bite fittings are easier to use and don't require a lot of expertise
to use. They will work with any type PEX or copper.

Answered on 5/9/2014 by Normie from Montgomery County Pa
    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Since this is a ProPEX fitting, it will only work with PEX-A grade tubing. PEX-A is CTS/SDR-9. PEX-B and PEX-C pipe also meet these dimensional specifications, but they do not work with ProPEX fittings. ProPEX fittings require PEX to be expanded before the fitting will fit inside the pipe, but only PEX-A has sufficient shape memory to shrink back to size securely around these adapters.

    Q:

What faucet connector tube will work with this expander fitting?

      A:

Most of the time these are used to transition from something to pex such as shower valves, angle stops, or anything that needs male npt threads to transfer from pex. Most faucets need a separate supply line from your angle stop valve to the faucet.

Any will work with it, but you will have a mounting issue.
It would be wiser to go with a drop ear elbow and then a brass nipple to a valve to standard connector hose to your sink/whatever. That way it is securely anchored in wall and you will be able to turn the valve with one hand.

Is this fitting used to connect to 1/2" uponor aquapex tube?
Asked on 3/29/2012 by Dan from Milwaukee, WI

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

It is, but it requires a ProPEX expansion tool. You can also use PEX crimp, clamp, push-fit, or compression fittings with AquaPEX tubing.

Most certainly, as long as you desire to connect a 1/2” female item to 1/2” pex line the fitting pictured will work nicely. Have a good day.

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

Yes, it is the expansion type. So as long as you have the expansion tool and plastic ring you can connect the uponor tubing to it. Just make sure you use teflon tape on the threads and thread it on before you connect the pex.
