Description for Uponor (Wirsbo) LF4655050

ProPEX Swivel Faucet Adapters connect PEX-a tubing to male NPSM faucet connections. Note: ProPEX Tool is required. ProPEX Rings sold separately.

Uponor's lead-free brass transition fittings, valves and wall boxes carry the NSF us-pw-G marking for lead-free compliance to meet state lead-free legislation, and exceed the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act. Now you can combine lead-free brass fittings with Uponor's PEX tubing, EP offering and ProPEX Out-of-the-Wall Support System for a complete lead-free solution from the inlet to the faucet. The new lead-free offerings feature Uponor's unique ProPEX fitting system for strong, durable connections without the need for torches, glues, solvents or gauges.

  • ProPEX LF Brass Swivel Adapter, 1/2" PEX x 1/2" NPSM

Can/should this be used to connect to a shower valve behind a wall so that if/when the valve needs to be changed years down the road I can simply unscrew the connection and change out the valve without having to cut the Uponor pex?

In addition, would it restrict the flow? In other words, is the outlet hole of the adapter smaller than the interior diameter of Uponor's 1/2" pex tubing?

ProPEX fittings restrict flow far less than other types of PEX fittings because ProPEX fittings fit inside of tubing only after it has been expanded to a larger size using a proper tool. Swivel adapters are generally used at sinks. Showers/Baths usually need 1/2" male x PEX adapters to make PEX piping connections.
