I have used several of these 1" pex ball valves and am very satisfied. If you are sticking with pex there is no better fitting since it only requires the two connection and you have isolated your line. It's ultimately cheaper becasue you don't need all the fitting and adapters that are required with thread. The valve is beefy and has a nice handle for good leverage to shut it off and turn it on. I have used them in high pressure domestic water 70 lbs as well as my hot water heat system up to 210 degrees.

I purchased similar valves about a year ago and I found that these are of a slightly different design and are inferior in quality to those I purchased earlier. The picture that Pex Supply uses to show the product is still inaccurate. They are showing the picture of the 1/2 and 3/4 inch valves. The one-inch handle's specs are completely different. I would only recommend them with the caveat of buyer beware.

Used for residential main water supply line shutoff. Beautifully made and smooth as silk. The ProPEX line of valves are very nice - but they're pretty darn pricy too.

This is being used in a freeze protection circuit on a tankless water heater. Propex fittings perform well but are hard to get. On line ordering is best way for a DIY person to get Propex parts.

It seems to be of very high quality and it could be clamped down after the PEX has been attached. If the PEX is clamped it is stiff enough to support the valve for most applications.

Does that help?
