ProPEX® Lead-free Full-port Brass Stop Valve is quarter-turn and chrome-plated. This stop valve is used for point-of-use shut-off at the fixture. This stop valve connects 1/2" AquaPEX® tubing to 3/8" O.D. risers.

Uponor's lead-free brass transition fittings, valves and wall boxes carry the NSF us-pw-G marking for lead-free compliance to meet state lead-free legislation, and exceed the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act. Now you can combine lead-free brass fittings with Uponor's PEX tubing, EP offering and ProPEX Out-of-the-Wall Support System for a complete lead-free solution from the inlet to the faucet. The new lead-free offerings feature Uponor's unique ProPEX fitting system for strong, durable connections without the need for torches, glues, solvents or gauges.

  • ProPEX LF Brass Full-Port Straight Stop Valve for 1/2" PEX

    Q:

Is this the best / most efficient way to convert my ProPEX tubing to hookup to sink and toilet fixtures?

      A:

A swivel adapter (see part Q4360500 for faucets or part Q4340500 for toilets) would probably be the most efficient way if your installation and local codes do not require shut-off valve at fixtures. They would allow 1/2" PEX to connect directly to fixtures. Transitioning to copper via a stub-out or using escutcheons and/or a finishing sleeve to conceal PEX prior to connecting to a stop valve may take a some extra work, but should look better.

      A:

So there are two ways I end my Pex pipe at a sink or toilet, one is with
the fitting that is pictured and the other way which gives a more high end
finish and isn't able to move at all is to screw in a 3/8 or 1/2 inch drop
el, connect your Pex pipe to that and use a 4 in nipple and threaded
      shutoff valve.

    Q:

I am planning to use propex on a remodel. With copper or steel pipe it is ridged. How do you recommend mounting a stop valve in a cabinet using pex so it is not flopping around.

      A:

I change over to copper before entering the cabinet that way I can use a copper strap in the floor to hold the copper making fairly ridged. I have seen people just pex into cab than its all over the place looks bad

You can use wall mounted plastic push connector. ( when you push the pex pipe in the mount it grabs the pipe ).

You can sleeve the pex with a chrome riser supplied by most pex companies

I was at my friends brand new house that was being built, and instead of the
stop valves you listed, the plumber used pex to copper stubs to go through
the walls, and then standard copper valves, which he said was code:

This valve requires PEX-A tubing and the ProPEX expansion fitting method. See the video at the link below for a brief demonstration.

No. For proPEX fittings the Pex needs expanded to fit over the fitting. Different connection philosophy.
