Comments about Model 49 Water Ridd'r III Automatic Sump Pump - 1/4 HP, 9 Ft Cord:

Use this pump to pump the water from washing machine in the basement up 1 floor to septic lines. was very easy to hook as we has the older model which lasted over 15 years. which the switch was going bad. wished I could just bought the switch to fix the older model. was glad for the site because the stores around here wanted 2 times the price for same pump.

Comments about Model 49 Water Ridd'r III Automatic Sump Pump - 1/4 HP, 9 Ft Cord:

Was easy to install from older Water Ridd'r model II without changing any piping. Used existing material and only needed to add a bushing because new model had a larger output size. Took only 1/2 hour; works perfectly. Good Buy!

A pump manufacturer you can trust

Comments about Model 49 Water Ridd'r III Automatic Sump Pump - 1/4 HP, 9 Ft Cord:

I live on a lot that is wet. My sump fills up whether it rains or not so it is important to have a good pump installation. Under real wet conditions my original pump (which I keep as a spare on standby)would cycle every 2 or 3 minutes. My new pump with the tethered float control cycles less than half as often which should extend its life. I also have installed a water operated back-up pump (also by Zoeller) because I feel there is less chance of losing city water pressure than losing electrical power in a storm.

Comments about Model 49 Water Ridd'r III Automatic Sump Pump - 1/4 HP, 9 Ft Cord:

Product arrived quickly, packaged well. Comes with easy to follow instructions with diagrams. I also replaced the check valve with a "clunkless" style which helps reduce noise a little. Also replaced threaded fitting, and small section of PVC up-pipe. This pump is smaller than the old one, which makes fitting it in the pit easy. Feels solid, stainless hardware is nice, time will tell how relaible it is, but very happy at the moment! Installed in house with crawl, so did not need to come up more than about 5 feet.

Small, quiet and does the job

Comments about Model 49 Water Ridd'r III Automatic Sump Pump - 1/4 HP, 9 Ft Cord:

This pump replaces a flotec pump that failed after 3 years. Since I have another 53 series zoller pump that has been running reliably for number years I decided to go with this model as it fits 12" pit.

Pump seems to be built well. Hopefully it is as reliable as the larger 53 series pump I have.

This pump is very quiet and yet it moves a lot of water. I think it's one of the best pumps on the market.

Great long-lasting pump

Comments about Model 49 Water Ridd'r III Automatic Sump Pump - 1/4 HP, 9 Ft Cord:

I purchased this as a replacement for an 11 year old version of the same pump that just failed. I was looking for the same set up as I didn't want to change everything around to fit a different style pump in my plastic sump. Aside from having to fit a longer PVC pipe down to the pump (becaise the builder left some "waste" concrete in the bottom of the sump & the now the pump fit squarely on the floor of the sump. Great quality!

    Q:

How does this model compare to the older Water Ridd'r II Model 48(Zoeller)? Do they both have the same HP? Is it a good replacement or should one go to the Zoeller M53 model?

Yes, I replaced mine after about 12 years and other than having to redo the piping due to the different height of the new unit compared to the old one. Has roughy the same pumping capacity & is about the same overall size.

I spend a little more money and got an aqua-mate sump pump, It has a ball which only goes vertical and does not float like the other and I do not need to be afraid that it will tangle somewhere in the pit

This is a great little pump. It is a ¼ hp pump and what I like about it is
that it’s very quiet and yet very powerful. Haven’t had a location yet where
it was too small and some of my friends and clients get a lot of water
coming in very quickly. I would highly recommend this pump. I have purchased
about 8 of these in the last 2 years and they are all still in operation.

      A:

It really depends on what you want the pump to do. If you take a look at the pump curve on the product specifications you can see how many gallons/min it will pump depending on the feet of head. http://s3.pexsupply.com/manuals/1265207586294/25195_PROD_FILE.pdf
