Comments about 8# Grease Trap, 4gpm:

This grease trap was perfect for what I required it for. I am opening a daily shake meal replacement shop and since the city classified me as a small restaurant, I was required to install grease trap. Fits perfectly under my 3 holed sink, [...] and was adequately inexpensive.

Comments about 8# Grease Trap, 4gpm:

We had our food trailer inspected by the health dept. They told us it was a great product, and passed with flying colors. It seems it is simle to clean and easy to get to if you have to do any repairs to the pipes.

    Q:

Can I connect 2" PVC to my inlet and outlet buy using rubber cup links or is there another way. I see the tank is all steel that is good. I cannot tell buy the picture how to connect my PVC. I will be installing the trap under my sink.

      A:

Yes, using rubber couplings to join the PVC pipe to the trap will provide a
strong seal and should give you many years of service. If the PVC pipe is
over 4 ft. long or is located where someone may rest a foot on it, etc.
then it would be best to support it to avoid stressing the coupling.

I utilized 2" rubber flexible connection between the tank connections and PVC piping.

      A:

I used a rubber adapter/reducer on the outlet to get the right diameter. I had the smaller trap, possibly 18" x 18". The inlet was done with the standard 1 ½ " sink draining into a 3" elbow connected to the trap. As long as the drain was a couple inches inside the elbow, overflow was never a problem. The rationale for the open elbow allows for air to flow as the liquid enters to avoid any type of vacuum effect fluid back-up. It has been several years, but I am pretty sure I ran a 2" outlet out and into a 4" main drain line. But I definitely remember using the rubber couplings. Hope this helps you.

It can sit above the floor or be buried. Either way, you must have access to the the top removal panel for cleaning.
