RS4220 has several good features but...

We have this installed on a single stage heat pump with two 5kW electric heat packs. To reduce power demand, the heat packs are staged with a separate thermostat so only one is used during system defrost or to boost the BTU output if the outside temperature is above 15F. This was purchased primarily for the ability to set the on/off cycle differential but the second stage doesn't work as expected. Even though you can set the differential temperature there is a time function, from 5 to 40 minutes, that will override it and this cannot be disabled. I assumed from the operational description this was an "and" function - both the temperature differential AND the time had to be met. Instead, this is an "or" function - once the time is up the second stage kicks in, regardless of the temperature differential.

Display Needs To Be Larger

Easy to install and setup, but the icons on the display need to be larger. For example, you have to look close to see the tiny "E" if you are using emergency heat.

Works great, easy to install.

Product was easy to install and replaced my previous (very similar) unit. Wiring posts were clearly marked and swap out was easy. Product on line videos were an added reassurance for install support.

I did buy this again!

I originally bought one unit and then decided to upgrade my whole house. I have radiant heating so the thermostat only controls that. They were very easy to install as the hole pattern was the same as the unit I was replacing. The units are easy to use. The only complaint I have is the installation manual was a little unclear in my particular installation for the wiring. I figured it out OK but I did have a little concern that I was doing it right.

Great company/service.

This thermostat was the replacement for my 8 year old thermostat that was discontinued. I was not aware that my older model was discontinued but Supplyhouse recommended this one as the upgrade. Easy to install. Exc price, fast ship, and great service from Supplyhouse.

Q: I HAVE A ROBERTSHAW THERMOSTAT #9415/ IS THE WIRING HOOKUP THE SAME ON BOTH UNITS

The terminations on the RS9415 were as follows: C, R, Y2, Y1, W1, G, W2, O, B. The terminations on the RS4220 are: RH/R, RC, C, G, B, O, Y1, W1, Y2, W2, E, L. So the wiring is not going to be exactly the same. The manual for the RS4220 shows on page 3 how to match up the old terminals to the new ones.
