4 QuestionsQ: Does this use a rubber washer to make a seal? Looking to use this with a copper male adapter.

the washer is inside the swivel Garland Sonsel
It uses a cone shaped washer, sometimes called a saniprene washer. Washer should be replaced, not reused.
It will hook up to 1/2 in NPT no problem.
I have generally found the rubber washer seals well to copper, brass, even galvanized male pipe threads, especially if the metal side is filed or worked to ensure it offers a better sealing surface. I suffered one joint that persistently leaked. Changing the rubber washer cured that leak, so I concluded that particular rubber washer was defective.
Yes. I used several of these and they've worked out great.
This is my opinion but I am not a licensed plumber. I use these parts and they do have a rubber seal. I find this part works well attaching to faucets. It should work with a copper male adapter (Pipe Nipple) as long as the edges where the threads end are not real sharp. If you look at faucets where this normally attach to this part, there is a slight bevel that keeps from tearing the rubber washer in this part. Good luck with your application. Dwain Plessinger

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffParts LF4655050 and Q4360500 are Uponor 1/2" faucet swivel adapters, but keep in mind that they only work with PEX-A grade tubing using the ProPEX expansion fitting method (special tool and rings required).
Q: My faucet connection is a braided steel line with a female compression fitting. What fitting will connect half-inch Pex to that?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThis fitting will connect 1/2" PEX directly to the faucet. It sounds like you need a PEX stop valve. Part H160500 would connect to 1/2" PEX on one end and a braided line on the other.
