These condensate traps are deep enough to meet heat pump manufacturer's recommendations. Most traps sold are too shallow.

Moved into a new construction home and noticed air was coming out of my Goodman coil unit condensate drain line clean out port (tee coupling after the p-trap). Did some research and found out my HVAC was configured to produce positive pressure to the coils (return above > furnace unit with blower up top > evaporator coil unit > supply below). Looked at the Goodman installation manual and recommended trap has certain dimensions and the installed trap was too shallow allowing the pressurized air coming out of the main drain port to easily push out the water in the trap, this not creating a positive liquid seal. Decided to purchase this j-trap even though measurements were not stated in the description. The j-trap exceeded the manufacturer's minimum depth to ensure positive liquid seal at the trap, especially with the couplings installed on both ends. After redoing the drain lines, air is no longer escaping. Note…through my research, traps are not necessarily required for positive pressure coils (depending on where the unit is installed) but are recommended for system efficiency. Since mine is in the garage, I'd rather have the conditioned air going inside my house instead of the garage.

Provides a perfect trap for the Air Handler, I am still puzzled that you can't find this item at the big box stores, Supplyhouse.com saved the day for me. Thank you.

I looked all over for these deep J traps for my package units. I finally found them here at Supply House, exactly what I wanted at a terrific price even with shipping. Only issue was UPS took over a week to get them to me. Probably the tentative drivers strike or pending at the time.
