Replacement water hammer arrestor for Aprilaire humidifiers. Water hammer is caused by high water pressure in your home and the rapid opening and closing of solenoid valves. This device will reduce the sound significantly. Install this in the water line just before the solenoid valve if you have a water hammer problem. Just cut your 1/4 inch water line within 2 feet of the solenoid valve and bolt this device in the line. It acts like a shock absorber for the water pressure.
