The Aprilaire 8145 Fresh Air Ventilator is designed to bring in precisely the right amount of outdoor air into today's efficient homes. Integrated controls allow the ventilator to be hardwired. Powered damper is removable. Washable MERV 6 filter included.

Finally breathing
After installing this thing i can finally breathe fresh air. The difference is noticeable. In addition : its easy to DIY
Took me an hour or so to install and hook the wires to the Air pump.

Best choice out there
The 8145 fresh air ventilator was easy to install and set up in my home. It is well-built, relatively quiet, and has a good variety of options for use. Per my research and experience, I don't think there is a better choice out there for fresh air ventilation for your average home. (Please note that I'm a professional engineer.)
I also recently installed a unit in my combination shop / 2nd home as well.
It would be nice if the controller came with a connector so that it could be remoted from the main unit, or have a mounting plate that could be rotated. For the installation in my combo shop / 2nd home, space was tight and the intake was from below and the output on top, which put the controller upside down.
It would also be nice if the unit had an adjustable speed blower motor, as I would then set it up to run continuously at a lower flow volumn since we run our furnace blower 24/7 in our home. But, of course this would add cost to the unit, and most notably make set up more complicated and difficult to show code compliance, expecially for the average HVAC tech.

Works as described, easy to install
Unit is fairly quiet if (if it is vented into the furnace, I can barely tell it's running from the basement), however it can be heard from the room above of it, if it is joist mounted (just loud enough to know it's running).
Also for anyone wondering, it can also be remotely activated by wiring the two vent terminals to the two accessory terminals on your thermostat (or other device)

Unit works as described, it is loud.
The unit was installed as a fresh air economizer.
The unit works fine but is loud. Anytime the booster fan starts you can hear it through return vents.
We installed suspensors to hang the unit, it did help a bit.
It should be installed away from the bedrooms.
Manufacturer should provide a quieter fan.
