For the money, I cannot recommend this tool. The Appion is superior in a major way. As others have mentioned, it simply doesn't hold the valve core very well, and if there is any downward angle, the core is likely to be lost. Second issue, when screwing the core in, this tool is incapable of seating the core completely. The core will always require more tightening with the tool removed. The window is useless; all it shows you is that the core isn't in the retaining rod and that you need to fish around for it. DO NOT BUY.

Disappointed in this tool
I own the VC2G and the VC1G. For what these tools cost, I expected a much better product from Fieldpiece. The end of the the core remover is way to loose. The core falls right out. I shouldn't have to bend the end of the tool with pliers to get it to work right. Also the core remover slide does not pass through the tool smoothly. You can feel it getting hung up as it goes through. Overall, these core removers are over priced junk. I should have just rebuilt my 15 year old Appion instead.
