Causes more floods than it prevents
These things are absolute trash. I have never seen one prevent a backup, but I have seen over 20 flooded basements because they had these in their floor drains and the AC condensate or water heater water could be getting down the drain. It would be equivalent to the Plan B pill causing a pregnancy once in a while.
