Red Epoxy is a two-part heat-cured repair kit that effectively seals and repairs cracks and holes in a wide array of rigid materials, including metals and robust plastics. It offers exceptional chemical resistance, successfully sealing various refrigerants, lubricants, fuels, gases, and solvents. It has been pressure tested to over 3000 psi and an operating temperature of up to 350F. The kit includes a bottle of the white part, a bottle of the red part, 60 grit sandpaper, two mixing spatulas, and an aluminum mixing tray.
Applications- Ideal for use on vertical or horizontal surfaces.
- Effective on aluminum/aluminum alloys, cast irons, copper/copper alloys, magnesium/magnesium alloys, carbon and stainless steels, galvanized surfaces, and most rigid plastics, including PVC.
- Widely used in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, automotive, marine, and manufacturing industries.
How to Use- Clean: Clean repair area using sandpaper or emery cloth to remove debris, then degrease with a solvent like mineral spirits, ensuring it dries completely before application.
- Apply: Apply equal amounts of resin from the red and white tubes onto the provided foil tray.
- Mix: Thoroughly mix the red and white parts until achieving a uniform red color. Once mixed, the resin remains viable for up to 4 hours.
- Cover: Use mixed epoxy to cover the repair area adequately.
- Heat: Slowly and uniformly heat the repaired area using a hot-air gun. Avoid concentrating heat in one spot.
- Cure: Observe the color deepen from red to nearly dark purple before turning gold. A uniform gold indicates a cure. Remove heat and allow repair to naturally cool to room temperature before returning equipment to service.
