Trace 2 is an efficient leak detector for AC, refrigeration, and hydraulic systems. It features a vibrant red dye that, when exposed to UV light, transforms into a bright purple-blue color, ensuring easy leak tracing without interrupting system operations. It leaves no residue or deposit in the systems and works well in detecting intermittent leaks, as the red color and fluorescent tracer stay on the equipment until wiped off. Compatible with all AC, refrigeration, and hydraulic systems.

How to Use

• Measure: Add 1/8 fluid ounce (3.75 ml) of Trace 2 directly to the refrigerant for every 1 lb. of refrigerant in the system.
• For Large Systems: Add Trace 2 with a standard oil charging pump directly to the refrigerant, not the crankcase.
• For Small Systems: Insert Trace 2 in a charging hose, connect to the low-side access valve, purge lines, and force Trace 2 into the system with refrigerant. Note: Trace 2 is a liquid and will sludge the compressor if charged too quickly.
• Inspect: Use a UV light to locate leaks - the dye will fluoresce bright purple-blue at leak points.
