While the interchangeable heads are a good idea, there are two major reasons why the idea of making the heads out of cheap plastic turned a good idea into a major fail that I wish I'd never spent my hard earned money on. The first major problem is that this plastic is very soft. It has to be rather thick to do this job at all and it still doesn't do it very well. I feel it's obvious the manufacturer knew the material was low quality when they made it, thus explaining why there's only thick-toothed heads. No thin plastic means no finer sized heads. Which means even though they give you a lot of heads, they're all way too big of a fin pattern for your home air conditioner coils. (typical strategy in the world of greed that we live in. Instead of spending more money on a good material that can make the entire size range, we'll just use the crp we have already laying around for free and just not make the lower range of sizes). The second major design flaw is that the tips, although pointy from top to bottom (where the point serves practically no purpose), they are totally flat from side to side. If you have actually repaired Ac coils you know that you need something thin to get in between flattened layers. Kind of hard to take a piece of flat and square edged plastic that's the exact width of the gap between undamaged fins and try to shove it into damaged fins. Especially when you are trying to shove in about 12 more teeth at the same time. It's just not going to happen. The soft plastic only makes the matter worse because the sharp fins dig right into the flat tip of the tool, all but guaranteeing that even the most straight laced do-it-yourselfer will be uttering a few curses before just giving up and giving the tool to the kids so they can brush the cat while you start searching for the fin tool you wish they had bought the first time around.
