Stopped working after 1 yr. BiMetal strip now rusts - older vents were fine.
They tried to save money by changing the strip material.
I bought 5 . All failed.

Right valve for the right location
These Jacobus Maid of Mist valves are the best! We have an old steam system and some of the valves were noisy, leaking, or preventing the radiator from working at all. Some rooms were much cooler than others. After changing the valves to these, our system is working great. I was having a hard time finding the straight air valves at my local stores; Pex Supply had the complete selection.

Q: Does the model type ( example 1/4 0r 1/8 ) affect how much heat , or how hot a radiator will get. I rent an apartment and the landlord freezes us in the winter and recently installed new valves on the radiators but before he sent the Supt. to do it he asked me what floor I live on. When I unscrewed the valve the radiator got extremely hot so I'm assuming the more air that escaped the hotter it will get? Thanks for your help:) Dyana

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffAir Valves are an integral part of any steam heating system, and will affect the heat output. The tighter you screw it in the less heat output, and the looser the valve the more heat output.
