Ice Machine Control w/ 42" Capillary

Used to replace the cold control on my 1940 GE. Simple replacement and works great!

Found a vintage appliance restoration company online selling this same part for a lot more! Did my research and concluded this was the same cold control (thermostat) they were selling. Ordered from Supply House one day and the part was on my porch the next! This comes with many different adapters to make it work with all different kinds of configurations. Was able to use the same dial and trim panel that is original to my vintage fridge, so unless I told you it was a new cold control, no one would ever know!

I used this to replace original equipment on a 1942 GE refrigerator. Works great, fridge has been back up and running for about 3 weeks, took maybe an hour to remove old and install new. Comes with multiple options for mounting and dial position.

Purchased this for my father-in-law so he could repair my mother-in-law's 50 year old refrigerator that she just doesn't want to get rid of! We couldn't find a local supplier who had a thermostat that would work with this old fridge. Took a chance, ordered this online. It arrived very quickly. Took my father-in-law all of an hour to put it in (he's 81 and moving slower than in the old days!). Fridge is back in action, my mother-in-law is thrilled and you guys made ME the hero! This Ranco temperature control worked wonderfully in my 1948 GE refrigerator I use for "Cold Stabilization" of my homemade wine in which the glass carboy of wine is cooled to 35 F for up to a month to avoid precipitation formation when the wine is later chilled before drinking. Someone in the past had replaced the original temperature control in the refrigerator with a Ranco A30-180-170 control having a different bunch of numbers after the A30-180-170 than the numbers in this SupplyHouse.com replacement. but this replacement still worked fine The most important numbers are the A30-180-070. My photo shows a variety of parts which should accommodate most configurations.

I bought this unit to retrofit on my son's 1941 Kelvinator refrigerator,which we restored. It has been in my family since the early 50's. The kit had plenty of spare parts with it,so I was able to fit it and still use the original knob. It works great and will keep the beer ice cold in his man-cave. Thanks.
