Q: What I the difference in size between the 11R and the 12R pipe thread dies? I see the two sizes listed but I can't find any specifications for the die handle size. I am looking for a 1/2 NPT die with the smaller handle.

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffHi Larry, thanks for writing in. One of the differences is the shape of the underside of the die head. The 12-R has a round shape with spines. These match with the pawl of the ratcheting handle. The 11-R on the other hand has a hex-shaped underside. Aside from that, the 12-R is bigger, having a 3.63" OD while the 11-R is only 2.50".
