Simple and safe

I use this to control my Jotul gas burning stove that is equipped with a 750 millivolt thermopile. It was easy to install, and does not need any other outside electrical source. It doesn't need to be perfectly level either. This unit can only be used for heating, not heating and cooling.

Not Very Sensitive

Bought for a NG stove (Hearthstone direct vent) with a millivolt system. Temperature swing was 5 degrees between coming on and going off. Purchased a White Rodgers 1E78-140 non-programmable thermostat (works with millivolt systems; requires 2 AAA batteries included) and that works perfectly. Only a 1 degree swing from on to off. Love it!!!

simple, no battries required

gotta love a device that does not need any batteries or power to make it work, simple is sometimes best.

A sign of the times

I had been familiar with this thermostat years ago, and on the strength of past experience, ordered another. Unfortunately, these units are now made in Mexico, and quality control has suffered. This new unit was woefully inaccurate, and I had to return it.

It works !

This was used to replace an erratic thermostat and this one works like the other one should have. It was used on a gas fireplace insert. I recommend it.

Good dependable function for a great price

This was a replacement for a greenhouse heater. Easy to install. Nothing fancy....it just performs its basic function but does it well. Very dependable and price was reasonable.

I would buy this product over and over

I needed to find a reasonably priced thermostat to use with an older propane wall heater, most places no longer carry one. Found some that didn't have all the features I was wanting. This one had these, along with a great price. It works great. I highly recommend it.

Q: Is the Robertshaw 200-501 compatible with the 250, 500, and 750 millivolt controls typically found on propane gas heaters?

I have a millivolt propane gas heater. I believe it’s voltage 750 millivolts. I tried two other thermostats that claimed they were millivolt compatible, but they were problematic. I finally found this Robertshaw thermostat about three years ago, and it has worked perfectly ever since.

The numbers on the bottom of the thermostat's display reflect the actual room temperature, while the numbers on the top allow you to use the red arrow to adjust the set point.

Q: I have a studio apartment with a robertshaw 200-501 millivolt mechanical thermostat, but i also have a digital thermometer too. My Thermometer says 74.1, but my thermostat dial says approximately 72.5. The thermostat is set to about 72.5. The themostat has no problem getting the set temperature to match its temperature reading but it doesnt match the temperature on my digital thermometer. So how do i get the thermostat gauge to display the correct temperature in my apartment?

You would need to replace your mechanical thermostat with a digital unit to correct this.
