Annual replacement is unreasonable
On one of the properties I maintain at the end of season: 1. Shut off water to spigot. Allow it anything in pipe to drain. 2. Disconnect hose and store for winter. 3. Remove the Vacuum Breaker, store indoors until the following year. Next year, after frost warnings have expried, reverse the process. By July 1, the vacuum breaker fails and requires replacement, even though there are no minerals in cavity and the rubber gaskets seem all-but-new. Have also had the spigot fail in winter, and Sharkbite replaced it under warranty. Good on them. But something with this specific design / model is seriously questionable.
