Expensive but necessary annual cost.
Slant Fin recommends the igniter be replaced annually. This recommendation was not in the manual that came with my boiler, but added later when it became apparent that they had a design flaw. I don't mind doing the replacement as it is very simple, but the cost is excessive considering it was not disclosed in the original documentation.

EASY INSTALLATION
THE SERVICE MANUAL RECOMMENDS THE IGNITOR ON MY SLANTFIN BOBCAT 120 BE CHANGED EVERY YEAR. SURE ENOUGH THE OLD IGNITOR FAILED TO PROPERLY OPERATE AFTER ABOUT 14 MONTHS. I ORDERED THIS REPLACEMENT PART AND IT WAS VERY SIMPLE TO INSTALL. NO MORE PROBLEM AND NO TECHNICIAN SERVICE FEES.

Q: Do I need to replace the gasket every time I replace the ignitor on this unit?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffIf the ignitor is the older style the gasket is different, so it is a good idea to change the gasket too.
