SmartLock SWUN7800 uses patented metal-to-metal sealing technology for permanent, zero-leak joints under any pressure or temperature. Standard wrenches align and tighten components automatically, letting technicians skip open flames and finish installs faster.

What's in the Box (pre-assembled)
- One SmartLock SWUN7800 union body
- Two union nuts
- Two ferrules
- One positioning strip
- No brazing or flaring required. Tighten nuts to seal tubes and valves without heat or flame.
- Automatic alignment. Positioning strip holds ferrules and body in perfect alignment for smooth assembly.
- Metal-to-metal seal. Compression ferrules deform to seal under high pressure for lasting, leak-free joints.
- Over-torque prevention. Built-in stops prevent nuts from overtightening and damaging the fitting.
- Corrosion-resistant finish.
- Works with all common refrigerants, including R-410A, R-22, R-134a, R-744, R-717 and A2L blends.
- Suitable for copper-to-copper, copper-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-aluminum connections.
- Tools needed. Standard open-end or adjustable wrenches only.
- Installation tip. Hand-start nuts on tubes and valves, then wrench-tighten until the fitting's torque stop engages.

design change?
There is a review, right before mine which states that the 7/8 swage connection is very difficult to fit onto the swage end. I also saw an HVAC tech on YouTube using the exact same 7/8 swage fitting and he appeared to have the exact same problem. I installed mine today (05/31/26) and it slid on like a glove with zero effort. it was literally perfect at both the factory swage end as well as the tube end. I'm wondering if there was some sort of design change? no idea but five stars for the 7/8 in swage fitting I received.

Very hard to slip on
Whether it be a factory swage, or made by a hydraulic hand tool, these are VERY difficult to get on. The tube side is a little better, but the swage side is ridiculous. I think the manufacturer should open up their tolerances a little or something, because the 3/8 version slide on like butter. Not so with the 7/8. No leaks so far though, so at least that's good.

Hard to get on, but no leaks
Very difficult to get on compared to the 3/8 swage. Had to put a concerning amount of force to get the lock onto the factory swage. Also very hard to tighten to no gap. I would recommend a long adjustable to help tighten. I used a 10 inch adjustable and felt like I was going to break my arm getting it to no gap.
However, it I pulled a vaccum down to 230 microns. So it definitely seals well. Only time will tell if it holds up
