4" Round Pan Box Extension Ring, 1/2" Deep

I purchased 4 of these steel extension rings to try out for test fitting on a home that somehow passed inspection, but was really not up to code, as the ceiling fixture metal boxes are recessed too far back against a unique tounge and groove wood ceiling (cannot have recess against combustible materials). When I tried to first remove the two 8-32x1/2" screws that come attached to the extension ring ears, All of them, and I mean All 8 screws on the 4 extension rings that I purchased stripped out the threads on the ring ears. Instantly I noticed that none of the 8 screws on the 4 rings that I purchased could be easily turned by hand. I knew this was a bad sign, it really just meant that all of these threads on these rings were cut using a very dull tap, which is ridiculously common of really bad Chinese manufacturing. Also the ring thickness is not 1/2" as advertised, it's almost 5/8". In the end I wound up using plastic round smart spacers that are truly 1/2" thick. I had very high hopes for this product being that it is from a major reputable manufacturer such as SouthWire and also sold by a very reputable outfit such as Supplyhouse, but everybody involved failed miserably with quality control on this particular product, as it is ridiculously obvious that no one involved ever did a quality check on these extension rings. I'm very, very, very, very disappointed on how this turned out, very sad evidence of the type of world we're living in now.
