The tekmar relays 003 and 004 are pin configured to all tekmar application drawings for ease of installation. The relays are easily serviced by unplugging them from their sockets without touching the wiring. Each relay comes with a mechanical test button for ease of troubleshooting.

Control the boiler loop circulator during a DHW call
The Tekmar 402 house controller is a great product. One of its only shortfalls is that it does not allow you to run indirect hot water either as a zone (where the boiler circulator also must always be running)or an independent loop (where the boiler loop circulator should be shut off during a DHW call). I activate this relay with the DHW circulator output from the 402, and then apply line voltage to the boiler loop circulator with the relay closure. The output from the relay is combined with the boiler output from the Teekmar 402, effectively "or'ing" the DHW call with the boiler circulator switch from the 402. This wiring assures that the boiler circulator is on when there is a DHW call and when there is other heating demand.
