Top Cover Assembly, COV05617

Cover is a lot cheaper made than original. It is also a lot shorter by roughly 2-1/2" so the other brace will be required if the original top is still in place. I am concerned what may be the effects of having a lot less ventilation. It is supposed to be the replacement, but it just appears to be too short for proper breathing, time will tell. I'm marking yes to recommend only because it's the only choice out there. Where it says the brace may be required in description, there should the new and old dimensions of braces and covers.

Although the mounting screw holes line up perfectly, the original top cover was several inches deeper so this replacement cover will sit too high unless you do some "modifications" to adapt it to the existing fan motor mounts. I made some modifications and am satisfied with the functionality and appearance, BUT: In retrospect, for efficiency of the installation process I would recommend following the site's suggestions to order the fan bracket kit (#18706) as well.

Fits perfectly. Make sure to get the new fan mount if on an older style unit.

Cover fits fine, but the motor bracket kit at a lower profile must be purchased if you have a higher profile original cover. so this adds a lot of cost for a big piece of plastic. the cover was shipped and strapped upright to a small pallet which prevents any damage in shipping or handling. Since the cover can easily crack if box was bumped or partially crushed, this method ensured a safe delivery.
