Perfect Fit for Freedom 90 American Standard Furnace
This replacement part was a perfect fit for my large Freedom 90 American Standard furnace, which was leaking water from behind the inducer moter.
Research revealed that the original factory part had a manufacturing defect. When I removed it, the presence of the defect was confirmed. The plastic surrounding the bottom retention screws had swelled and cracked, resulting in two sources of water leakage. (Shocking that Am. Standard didn't use higher quality plastic to make a part subjected to constant thermal stress.)
Easy replacement. Removed inducer motor and its mounting plate. Installed the new part. Used Permatex red hi-temp to seal it. Waited 24 hours for the Permatex to set. My 17yo furnace is running like a champ again.
