Easy to install and solves the problem
A few years ago I replaced a failed Honeywell thermostat with a Venstar Explorer Mini T2000 unit. I chose the T2000 because it was one of the few thermostats to offer local monitoring and control (cloud service available but not required) and that married well with my Home Assistant home automation software. The T2000 was smaller than the Honeywell unit and left mounting holes and faded paint exposed. The wall plate worked perfectly to cover up the unsightly details and now the installation looks like it was done by the pros.
