complicated control
i use the viodent 100 to heat my oil fired boiler to the required temperature set by the original outdoor reset control.This gives the gas boiler a heat sink to store its energy and thus the return water temperature stays below 130f to keep unit at its highest efficiency of 95%. I also use the outdoor reset supplied by Viessmann to regulate its final water temperature. The indirect also provides a heat sink and prevents burner short cycling as occurs using the combi DH unit.This set up also gives me the option of using oil if required. Some concerns i have with the boiler control is the difficulty of learning how to set up the boiler as there is no display of target temperatures as i am use to.It is very quiet and small compared to my oil which was originally fired at 1.75 gal.
