2" black pipe replacement dor steam heat.
i used the couplings to rplace a 120 year old rusted out black pipe. Made the job doable.

Q: Does the fitting contain an internal stop or can you slide the entire fitting over a piece of pipe?

Verified Reply- SupplyHouseHi Mike! There is not an internal stop and you slide the entire fitting over the pipe. You loosen each nut very little because there is a gasket in there that can come loose and is very fragile (like fiberglass) that you don't want to break, and you slide it over the pipe. Then when in position you tighten the nuts back down around the pipe.
