Q: How do these work differently than regular bolted flanges? I am familiar with flanges and I am familiar with unions, but what is a steam flange union? We have submerged heating coils (for steam) that have begun leaking at the flanged connections and I was wondering if this steam flange union is what we should be using instead.

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffSteam flange unions function in same way that standard bolted flanges do. If your current flanges were not custom made, you will be able to use these as long as they have the same exact diameter as your coils and the same number of bolt holes (likely 4 or 5). You will also need steam gaskets (not rubber). These unions are rated at 125 psi.
