Area Manager (Farmers Branch)

Full-time position

SupplyHouse.com, a rapidly growing e-commerce company in the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC space, is looking for an Area Manager overseeing our Receiving Team to join our Texas Fulfillment Center! The Receiving Team Lead is responsible for the oversight, development, and accountability of the Receiving and Put Away Team. If you are looking for a career that will allow you to motivate team members and support management, this is the job for you!

Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Location: Farmers Branch, TX

Shift: Monday through Friday, from 6:00am to 3:00pm CST

Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 annually

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Receiving team is completing all freight and UPS Fed/Ex purchase orders based on priority on a daily basis if possible given the volume
  • Responsible for keeping the receiving assignment board up to date based on priority
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the accounting and buying teams for all purchase order related communications that involve prioritization and execution
  • Ensure that all team members are trained and understand all operational processes along with standard safety and organizational processes
  • Collaborate with the Inbound Manager and Inventory Control Lead to be on the same page with how and where material should be received
  • Track performance of each team member and providing consistent feedback regularly along with check-ins
  • Conduct monthly check-ins with each member of the Receiving team in order to establish rapport and provide feedback
  • Immediately address all personnel and performance related incidents that arise
  • Execute all process improvements developed and in partnership with the Inbound Manager to support the growth
  • Execute all projects assigned by the Inbound Manager
  • All members of leadership are expected to lead by example and maintain professional standards in the workplace

Requirements:

  • Fundamental understanding of inventory, supply chain and logistics concepts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Strong problem solving and time management skills; strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and multitask
  • Ability to follows process and standard procedures

This individual will work alongside our General Manager to oversee and support our growing team and operations. Location: Farmers Branch, TX  (177,000 sq. ft.) 

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 (annually)

Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. CST

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for strategizing workforce planning with the Inbound and Outbound Manager and for determining how to distribute resources throughout each department
  • Supports the Inbound Manager, Outbound Manager, and Local Operations Lead and is responsible for ensuring that they are able to successfully execute all projects and process improvements
  • Sets parameters, develops goals, allocates resources, and establishes effective controls to achieve goals, standards, budgets, and KPI's
  • Conducts monthly check-ins with the Inbound Manger, Outbound Manager, and Local Operations Lead in order to establish rapport, provide feedback, and ensure they are feeling positive about their departments, team leads, and processes
  • Works with the General Manager to immediately address all personnel and performance related incidents that arise
  • Supports and coaches the Inbound/Outbound Managers through employee incidents (as needed)
  • Directly oversees the Inbound Manager, Outbound Manager, and Local Operations Leads in searching for improvement opportunities using Lean principles

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of experience in a high-paced operational role including, but not limited to, warehouse, distribution center, fulfillment center, or supply chain management OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 7 years of experience in a high-paced operational role including, but not limited to, warehouse, distribution center, fulfillment center, or supply chain management
  • At least 2 years of experience directly managing people including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work
  • Experience owning quality and efficiency KPI's and scheduling a large workforce
  • Experience leading and facilitating cross-functional teams
  • Experience building and maintaining cross-functional working relationships
  • Experience managing cost performance and DC/FC execution
  • Able to lead by example and maintain professional standards in the workplace

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Business degree in Logistics or Industrial/Engineering
  • At least 2 years of experience working with automated systems (RF technology, WMS, Conveyor, and Sortation)
  • At least 1 year of Lean experience in a Manufacturing or Logistics environment
  • At least 2 years of experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expense and capital budgets

This is a remote-based role within select states in the United States. At this time, we are only able to employ those located in the following states: Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

This position will require travel to our NY office headquarters up to three times per year for internal meetings and team-building activities. The cost of travel for employees out of the area will be covered by the company. Additionally, our offices are always available for staff to use as much as desired.

A company laptop and other necessary equipment will be provided along with a $250 stipend for your work from home space.

Role Type: Full-Time, Exempt

  • Manage day to day vendor relationship activities and provide solutions to any topics that need resolution 
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional departments to support the category strategy  
  • Assist with product promotions and educational strategies around new and existing products 
  • Help support the growth of sales for the categories supported through first to market ideas and the management of product positions
  • Work with our customer base to gather insights and determine how to implement those insights 

Requirements:

SupplyHouse.com, an innovative e-commerce heating, plumbing, and HVAC supply company, is searching for a highly motivated and experienced Product Manager to take ownership of our data quality and infrastructure initiatives. In this role, you will manage our Customer Data Platform (CDP) in Segment and oversee the tagging systems to ensure seamless data collection and reporting. You will collaborate closely with the Customer Experience (CX) team to drive website and app enhancements using data-driven insights, while also working with cross-functional stakeholders to integrate new tools and technologies. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing internal systems and processes related to data management, ensuring our organization maximizes the value of its data assets.

This is a remote-based role within select states in the United States. At this time, we are only able to employ those located in the following states: Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

    • Data Warehouses like BigQuery, RedShift, Snowflake, etc. 
    • Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) or tag management systems like Segment, mParticle, Google Tag Manager, etc.
