The Motor Monitor TK-MM™ is designed to
be used with the TK-400™ Universal
Twinning and Paralleling Kit to eliminate the
need for backdraft dampers when HVAC
units are twinned together.
The TK-MM™ monitors both the control voltage that turns on the fan and the current draw of both fan motors. If the 24 volt control voltage is present but there is no current draw at both motors after six seconds, the TK-MM™ will open a set of dry contacts and shut off both blowers. If the TK-MM™ trips off, it can be reset by interrupting power to furnace #1 for 2 seconds. In applications where each HVAC unit must operate as an independent stage, backdraft dampers will be required.
